PRACTICE FOCUS

Before forming Atkins Intellectual Property, Mike was an associate and partner for more than ten years at the 50-attorney Seattle law firm of Graham & Dunn (now Miller Nash Graham & Dunn), where he served as chair of the firm’s Business Department, among other leadership positions. Mike has been lead counsel in a number of high-stakes disputes in his 20-year career, including a week-long trial in which the court awarded his client damages and attorney’s fees, and a four-year proceeding in which the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board awarded his client trademark registrations over the objections of a multi-national corporation. He also has spent a great deal of time prosecuting trademark registrations and representing clients in transactions involving intellectual property. When not writing, speaking, or teaching about IP issues, Mike likes to run, ski, travel, study Spanish, and listen to loud music.
